Miguel Amigot is Chief Technology Officer of ibl.ai, where he leads engineering, architecture and product. His background is in computer science and electrical engineering, and it shapes how he thinks about AI infrastructure: as systems that keep an organization free to run any model and switch at any time, and in full ownership of its own code and data.

He works with universities, companies and government agencies to deploy agentic AI inside their own infrastructure, so that they avoid the vendor lock-in and per-seat pricing that make AI prohibitively expensive at scale. The platform described in this book, its model router, its connectors and broker, its identity hand-off and its harness, is the one he and his team build and run.

He has made the case for sovereignty and ownership to institutional leaders in several settings: on a panel on AI and enrollment management at Harvard Graduate School of Education's Leadership in Strategic Enrollment Management program, alongside the founders of EdSights and Kai and moderated by Paul LeBlanc; and at a Banco Santander gathering of roughly one hundred university presidents in Mexico City, on what agentic AI makes possible in higher education today. His throughline in both was the one this book expands: an institution should control its own code and data, and the technology now makes that practical rather than merely principled.

Miguel's writing and talks are collected at ibl.ai/miguel. He lives and works in New York.

*Sovereign AI Engineering* is his first book, and the second title from Memorare Press on building institutions around artificial intelligence, following *The AI-Native University* by Mikel Amigot.
