Last updated: October 20, 2026

**ibl.ai publishes a free Infinite Campus agent skill: a SKILL.md that teaches an AI agent to read and write Infinite Campus data and expose it as an MCP tool. Download it, connect your own Infinite Campus credentials, and run the agent on ibl.ai Agentic OS, where you own all the code and the data.**

Infinite Campus is a K-12 student information system holding district, school, student and staff records, class rosters and enrollments, and the Campus Grade Book.

## What is the Infinite Campus API, and what can an agent read from it?

OneRoster REST provider for rostering (orgs, users, classes, enrollments, academic sessions) and gradebook push and pull, plus OneRoster Assessments 1.2. Districts set up each vendor connection in Digital Learning Applications Configuration.

- API: Infinite Campus OneRoster API (1.1 and 1.2) (REST)
- Access: Partner or license program
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0 client credentials (OneRoster)

A district creates the OneRoster connection for a vendor and shares credentials. Infinite Campus's Digital Learning Partner program requires partner apps to be 1EdTech certified.

Current connections use OAuth 2, per the Knowledge Base's 'OneRoster API Documentation (OAuth 2)'. Older connections may be legacy configurations the KB explains how to update.

### What can an agent read from Infinite Campus?

- **Orgs and schools** — District and school orgs via the certified OneRoster REST rostering provider (1.1 and 1.2).
- **Users** — Students, teachers and other users the district shares with the connection.
- **Classes and enrollments** — Sections and student/teacher enrollments, grouped as ClassesManagement and related endpoint groups.
- **Academic sessions and courses** — Terms, grading periods and courses via OneRoster AcademicSessionsManagement and course endpoints.
- **Gradebook and assessment results** — Certified Gradebook Pull and Assessment Results Profile pull (OneRoster 1.2).

### What can an agent write to Infinite Campus?

- **Line items (assignments)** — Certified OneRoster Gradebook Push: a partner app creates assignments in the Campus Grade Book. Confirm with the user first.
- **Results (scores)** — Partner apps write student scores into the Campus Grade Book (score passback). Confirm with the user first.
- **Assessment results** — Certified OneRoster 1.2 Assessment Results Profile push. Confirm with the user first.

Student education records protected by FERPA: demographics, enrollments, schedules and grades the district chooses to share with each connection.

## How do I connect Infinite Campus to an AI agent over MCP?

As of October 2026 we found no MCP server published by Infinite Campus itself.

The practical path is to host a small MCP server that wraps the Infinite Campus OneRoster API (1.1 and 1.2), or to give the agent the calls directly with the SKILL.md below.

On ibl.ai an MCP connection is three records, and a working integration always needs all three:

1. **Register the server** — `POST …/mcp-servers/` with its URL, a transport (`sse`, `websocket` or `streamable_http`) and an `auth_type` of `none`, `token` or `oauth2`.
2. **Create a connection** that holds the credential, scoped to the whole organization (`platform`), to a single agent, or to each user (`user`).
3. **Enable it on the agent** — `mcp-tool` in `tool_slugs` and the server id in `mcp_servers`. Both lists are replaced, not merged, so read the settings first.

For an API key or a service credential, one `token` connection at `platform` scope serves the whole organization; scope a connection to a single agent when that agent needs narrower access than the rest.

The field reference is in [MCP server connections](https://ibl.ai/developer/platform/mcp/mcp-connections), and the [/iblai-api-agent-mcp](https://ibl.ai/developer/skills/iblai-api-agent-mcp) skill runs all three steps from a coding agent.

## What does the Infinite Campus agent skill do?

The Infinite Campus skill is one SKILL.md file named `iblai-connect-infinite-campus`. It gives an agent the auth conventions, what to read, which writes need a person's confirmation, the ibl.ai MCP wiring, example prompts and guardrails.

[Download the Infinite Campus SKILL.md](https://ibl.ai/developer/connectors/infinite-campus/SKILL.md)

Save it as `.claude/skills/iblai-connect-infinite-campus/SKILL.md`, or in your agent's skills folder. The ibl.ai platform skills it calls come from one install:

```
npx skills add iblai/vibe --all
```

This connector skill is a starting point maintained on ibl.ai, not part of the iblai/vibe repository.

It was checked against Infinite Campus' documentation on October 20, 2026. Test it against your own Infinite Campus setup before you rely on it.

### What can I ask an Infinite Campus agent to do?

- “List the students in each of Ms. Rivera's sections for the spring semester”
- “Show which teachers are assigned to 9th-grade English classes at North High”
- “Pull the grading periods for this school year from Infinite Campus”
- “Post the quiz scores from our reading app to the Campus Grade Book for Period 3”

## How do I run an Infinite Campus agent on ibl.ai?

[Agentic OS](https://ibl.ai/product/agentic-os) is where the agent runs on ibl.ai: it holds the Infinite Campus MCP connection, the model the agent uses, its instructions and its conversation history.

On ibl.ai you own all the code and the data, run it model-agnostic across any LLM, and pay with no per-seat pricing — so you can deploy anywhere, from your own cloud to a fully air-gapped network.

## What else should I know before connecting Infinite Campus to an AI agent?

### Is there an official Infinite Campus MCP server?

Not that we found as of October 20, 2026: Infinite Campus documents the Infinite Campus OneRoster API (1.1 and 1.2), not an MCP server of its own.

The SKILL.md on this page gives an agent the integration directly, and any MCP server you host can be registered on ibl.ai.

### Who can get Infinite Campus API credentials?

A district creates the OneRoster connection for a vendor and shares credentials. Infinite Campus's Digital Learning Partner program requires partner apps to be 1EdTech certified.

### Does Infinite Campus data leave my infrastructure when an ibl.ai agent uses it?

On ibl.ai, you own all the code and the data. Self-hosted in your cloud or data center, the agent, its MCP connections and its conversation logs stay inside your perimeter.

Because the platform is model-agnostic, you can point the agent at a model you host, so Infinite Campus records need not reach a third-party model provider.

### Is the Infinite Campus agent skill free to use?

Yes. The SKILL.md is a free download with no sign-up. It assumes you already have Infinite Campus credentials, and your agreement with Infinite Campus still governs how you use its API.
