# PeopleSoft Campus Solutions connector for AI agents

> A starting point maintained on ibl.ai at https://ibl.ai/developer/connectors/peoplesoft-campus-solutions — not part of the iblai/vibe repository. Checked against Oracle's documentation on October 20, 2026; test it against your own PeopleSoft Campus Solutions setup before you rely on it.

Oracle's student administration system for colleges and universities, run on each institution's own PeopleSoft environment. It holds constituent (person) data, admission applications, programs, classes, academic terms and class enrollments.

## Auth & conventions

- **API:** PeopleSoft Integration Broker service operations (REST and SOAP), Component Interfaces, Campus Solutions Edu-API (Mixed). Delivered service operations run through Integration Broker: Edu-API (SCC_EDUAPI_SERVER_R, GET only), constituent get/update (SCC_CONSTITUENT) and SOAP admissions services (SAD_ADMISSIONS). Component Interfaces give programs synchronous access to components.
- **Base URL:** https://{machine}:{port}/PSIGW/RESTListeningConnector/{defaultlocalnode}
- **Access:** Issued by your administrator. Services run on the institution's own PeopleSoft system. Its integration administrator must activate the service operations, set their security and issue credentials; there is no Oracle-hosted public endpoint for Campus Solutions data.
- **Auth:** HTTP Basic (external user ID and password on the node); PeopleSoft token; OAuth 2.0 bearer token (IDCS, Azure, Okta or Ping); SSL, message signing or encryption (SOAP). Each REST operation's Req Verification is None, SSL, Basic Authentication, PeopleSoft Token or OAuth2, each optionally with SSL. OAuth2 checks tokens from IDCS, Azure, Okta or Ping, scoped read, write or readwrite.
- Keep PeopleSoft Campus Solutions credentials in environment variables or the ibl.ai credential store. Never print a token in chat and never commit one to a file.
- Destructive or outward-facing calls are marked **Confirm with the user first** — do.

## Reads

- **Persons (Edu-API)** — SCC_EDUAPI_SERVER_R_GET.v1 (GET) returns person data in the 1EdTech Edu-API format; organizations are also provisioned.
- **Classes and programs (Edu-API)** — Edu-API class information and program information from Campus Solutions.
- **Academic periods (Edu-API)** — Edu-API academic periods and sessions, such as terms and semesters.
- **Class enrollments (Edu-API)** — Edu-API class enrollment records.
- **Constituent lookup** — SCC_CONSTITUENT / SCC_GET_CONSTITUENT: get one constituent by EmplID, or search/match on partial details (synchronous).
- **Admission applications** — SAD_ADMISSIONS SOAP operations SAD_GETAPPLS, SAD_GETAPPL and SAD_GETATTACH return applications and attachments.

## Writes

- **Constituent update** — SCC_CONSTITUENT_IN_SYNC (asynchronous) updates one constituent by EmplID; the whole request is rejected if any field is invalid.
- **Create or save application** — SAD_CREATEAPP and SAD_SAVEAPPL create and save an admission application.
- **Submit application** — SAD_SUBMITAPPL submits an admission application to the institution. **Confirm with the user first.**
- **Component Interface changes** — A Component Interface lets an external Java, C/C++ or COM program view, enter and change data in a PeopleSoft component.

## Expose it to an ibl.ai agent (MCP)

Oracle publishes an official MCP server, PeopleSoft MCP Server (PeopleTools 8.63) (https://docs.oracle.com/en/applications/peoplesoft/peopletools/8.63/system-and-server-administration/system-and-server-administration.pdf). Register it below as-is, or host your own server that wraps the calls in this skill.

First install the ibl.ai platform skills and connect your organization (writes `IBLAI_ORG`, `IBLAI_USERNAME` and `IBLAI_API_KEY` to `.env`):

```bash
npx skills add iblai/vibe --all
# then, in your coding agent:
/iblai-api-login
```

Every call below sends `Authorization: Api-Token $IBLAI_API_KEY`.

1. **Register the server** — `POST https://api.iblai.app/dm/api/ai-mentor/orgs/$IBLAI_ORG/users/$IBLAI_USERNAME/mcp-servers/` with `name`, `url`, `transport` (`sse` | `websocket` | `streamable_http`) and `auth_type` (`none` | `token` | `oauth2`). Capture the returned `id`.
   - For an API key or service credential use `auth_type=token` with `auth_scope=platform` for one key across the organization, or scope it to a single agent for one key per agent.
2. **Create the connection** — `POST https://api.iblai.app/dm/api/ai-mentor/orgs/$IBLAI_ORG/users/$IBLAI_USERNAME/mcp-server-connections/` with `server`, `scope` (`platform` | `mentor` | `user`), `auth_type`, and either `credentials` + `authorization_scheme` or a `connected_service` id for OAuth. Credentials are masked on read; never send a masked value back.
3. **Enable it on the agent** — `GET https://api.iblai.app/dm/api/ai-mentor/orgs/$IBLAI_ORG/users/$IBLAI_USERNAME/mentors/{agent_id}/settings/`, add `mcp-tool` to `tool_slugs` and the server id to `mcp_servers`, then `PATCH` the full lists back. They are replaced, not merged.

## Example prompts

- "Look up the constituent record for EmplID 1234567 and show their name and addresses"
- "List class enrollments for the Fall 2026 term from our Edu-API endpoint"
- "Show the admission applications saved but not yet submitted for this applicant"
- "Update the preferred email for EmplID 1234567 through the constituent service"

## Guardrails

- Student records in Campus Solutions are FERPA education records, and admissions services can touch payment steps. Activate only the service operations and fields a task needs.
- Request the narrowest PeopleSoft Campus Solutions scopes or role the task needs, and prefer a read-only credential for agents that only answer questions.
- Return the fields the user asked for, not whole records; do not paste personal data into chat that the user did not request.
- Before any write, show the user exactly what will change and wait for a yes.
- Page through large result sets and back off on rate-limit responses instead of retrying in a loop.
