Here's what matters. If the AI platform charges per seat, your cost scales linearly with headcount.

If you're growing — through hiring, through M&A — your AI budget grows proportionally. A flat-rate or licensed model caps your cost regardless of headcount growth.

If the AI platform runs on the vendor's infrastructure, every employee interaction with the AI generates data on someone else's servers.
