Fiserv Banking Hub MCP Server & Agent Skill
Last updated
ibl.ai publishes a free Fiserv Banking Hub agent skill: a SKILL.md that teaches an AI agent to read and write Fiserv Banking Hub data and expose it as an MCP tool. Download it, connect your own Fiserv Banking Hub credentials, and run the agent on ibl.ai Agentic OS, where you own all the code and the data.
Fiserv runs core banking platforms such as Premier for U.S. banks and credit unions. Banking Hub exposes them through Communicator Open APIs covering parties, accounts, holds, stop checks and collateral.
What is the Fiserv Banking Hub API, and what can an agent read from it?
Normalized APIs over Fiserv banking platforms: Party Service (names, addresses, IDs, tax data, phones, email), Account Service (create and retrieve accounts), Account Hold, Stop Check and Account Collateral services.
- API: Banking Hub (Communicator Open APIs) on Fiserv Developer Studio (REST)
- Access: Partner or license program
- Base URL: https://bankinghub-cert.fiservapis.com (sandbox/cert; each workspace shows its Host URL)
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0 client credentials (API key and secret via HTTP Basic)
Create a Developer Studio account and one Banking Hub workspace for a trial key on a shared Premier sandbox. Dedicated test environments need a paid Banking Hub Connection plan; live use runs through the FI's Communicator Open.
POST https://bankinghub-cert.fiservapis.com/fts-apim/oauth2/v2 with Basic auth (API key as user, secret as password) and grant_type=client_credentials. Token lasts about 15 minutes. Send Org ID and EFXHeader on calls.
What can an agent read from Fiserv Banking Hub?
- Parties β Party Service: names, addresses, issued IDs, tax data, phone numbers and email addresses.
- Account details β Get Account Details: POST /acctservice/acctmgmt/accounts/secured (Premier DDA, CDA, loan and others).
- Account holds β Get Account Hold: POST /acctholdservice/stophold/accountHolds/secured.
- Collateral β Account Collateral Service relationships between accounts and collateral.
What can an agent write to Fiserv Banking Hub?
- Open account β Add Account: POST /acctservice/acctmgmt/accounts creates a deposit or loan account on the core. Confirm with the user first.
- Account hold β Add Account Hold: POST /acctholdservice/stophold/accountHolds restricts funds. Confirm with the user first.
- Stop check β Stop Check Service refuses payment of an unpaid check. Confirm with the user first.
- Party data β Party Service operations that maintain customer names, addresses and contact data.
Limits: Access tokens are valid about 15 minutes and should be reused until expiry. One Banking Hub workspace per account; the trial plan uses a shared Premier sandbox. No rate limits on the pages loaded.
Party and account data are GLBA nonpublic personal information (tax IDs, issued identifications, balances). Treat account holds and stop checks as regulated account actions.
How do I connect Fiserv Banking Hub to an AI agent over MCP?
As of October 2026 we found no MCP server published by Fiserv itself.
The practical path is to host a small MCP server that wraps the Banking Hub (Communicator Open APIs) on Fiserv Developer Studio, or to give the agent the calls directly with the SKILL.md below.
On ibl.ai an MCP connection is three records, and a working integration always needs all three:
- Register the server β
POST β¦/mcp-servers/with its URL, a transport (sse,websocketorstreamable_http) and anauth_typeofnone,tokenoroauth2. - Create a connection that holds the credential, scoped to the whole organization (
platform), to a single agent, or to each user (user). - Enable it on the agent β
mcp-toolintool_slugsand the server id inmcp_servers. Both lists are replaced, not merged, so read the settings first.
For an API key or a service credential, one token connection at platform scope serves the whole organization; scope a connection to a single agent when that agent needs narrower access than the rest.
The field reference is in MCP server connections, and the /iblai-api-agent-mcp skill runs all three steps from a coding agent.
What does the Fiserv Banking Hub agent skill do?
The Fiserv Banking Hub skill is one SKILL.md file named iblai-connect-fiserv. It gives an agent the auth conventions, what to read, which writes need a person's confirmation, the ibl.ai MCP wiring, example prompts and guardrails.
Download the Fiserv Banking Hub SKILL.md
Save it as .claude/skills/iblai-connect-fiserv/SKILL.md, or in your agent's skills folder. The ibl.ai platform skills it calls come from one install:
$ npx skills add iblai/vibe --allThis connector skill is a starting point maintained on ibl.ai, not part of the iblai/vibe repository.
It was checked against Fiserv's documentation on October 20, 2026. Test it against your own Fiserv Banking Hub setup before you rely on it.
What can I ask a Fiserv Banking Hub agent to do?
- βLook up the party record for this tax ID and show addresses on fileβ
- βGet account details and current holds for DDA account 1029384β
- βPlace a $500 hold on this account pending dispute reviewβ
- βStop payment on check 2231 from this checking accountβ
How do I run a Fiserv Banking Hub agent on ibl.ai?
Agentic OS is where the agent runs on ibl.ai: it holds the Fiserv Banking Hub MCP connection, the model the agent uses, its instructions and its conversation history.
On ibl.ai you own all the code and the data, run it model-agnostic across any LLM, and pay with no per-seat pricing β so you can deploy anywhere, from your own cloud to a fully air-gapped network.

What else should I know before connecting Fiserv Banking Hub to an AI agent?
Is there an official Fiserv Banking Hub MCP server?
Not that we found as of October 20, 2026: Fiserv documents the Banking Hub (Communicator Open APIs) on Fiserv Developer Studio, not an MCP server of its own.
The SKILL.md on this page gives an agent the integration directly, and any MCP server you host can be registered on ibl.ai.
Who can get Fiserv Banking Hub API credentials?
Create a Developer Studio account and one Banking Hub workspace for a trial key on a shared Premier sandbox. Dedicated test environments need a paid Banking Hub Connection plan; live use runs through the FI's Communicator Open.
Does Fiserv Banking Hub data leave my infrastructure when an ibl.ai agent uses it?
On ibl.ai, you own all the code and the data. Self-hosted in your cloud or data center, the agent, its MCP connections and its conversation logs stay inside your perimeter.
Because the platform is model-agnostic, you can point the agent at a model you host, so Fiserv Banking Hub records need not reach a third-party model provider.
Is the Fiserv Banking Hub agent skill free to use?
Yes. The SKILL.md is a free download with no sign-up. It assumes you already have Fiserv Banking Hub credentials, and your agreement with Fiserv still governs how you use its API.
