Salesforce Government Cloud MCP Server & Agent Skill

Last updated

ibl.ai publishes a free Salesforce Government Cloud agent skill: a SKILL.md that teaches an AI agent to read and write Salesforce Government Cloud data and expose it as an MCP tool. Download it, connect your own Salesforce Government Cloud credentials, and run the agent on ibl.ai Agentic OS, where you own all the code and the data.

Salesforce Government Cloud and Government Cloud Plus run the Salesforce platform in an isolated environment for U.S. agencies and contractors. Holds constituent cases, applications, licenses, inspections, grants and benefits records.

What is the Salesforce Government Cloud API, and what can an agent read from it?

REST API reads, creates, updates and deletes sObject records, runs SOQL queries and searches, and reports org limits. Public Sector Solutions adds standard objects such as IndividualApplication and BusinessLicense.

  • API: Salesforce REST API (same platform APIs); Public Sector Solutions objects (REST)
  • Access: Issued by your administrator
  • Base URL: https://{MyDomainName}.my.salesforce.com/services/data/vXX.X/
  • Authentication: OAuth 2.0 via External Client App or connected app; Bearer access token

An admin of the Government Cloud org creates an External Client App or connected app and grants API-enabled users access. Government Cloud orgs use their own login host, not login.salesforce.com; confirm it with the admin.

Clients authorize through an OAuth 2.0 flow on an External Client App or connected app and send the access token as Authorization: Bearer. Calls run with the user's object, field and sharing permissions.

What can an agent read from Salesforce Government Cloud?

  • Records (sObjects) — GET /services/data/vXX.X/sobjects/{Object}/{Id} for standard and custom objects.
  • SOQL query results — Query and search resources return records matching SOQL or SOSL.
  • Applications and licenses — Public Sector objects such as IndividualApplication and BusinessLicense.
  • Object metadata — Describe resources return fields and relationships for an object.
  • Org limits — The limits resource reports the org's API and storage allocations.

What can an agent write to Salesforce Government Cloud?

  • Create records — POST to /sobjects/{Object}/ creates a record, such as a case or application.
  • Update records — PATCH /sobjects/{Object}/{Id} updates field values.
  • Delete records — DELETE /sobjects/{Object}/{Id} removes a record. Confirm with the user first.

Limits: Each org has API request allocations; the REST limits resource reports current usage. Responses default to JSON.

Agency records often hold PII and CUI; some hold tax or criminal justice data. Salesforce's compliance site lists Government Cloud Plus as FedRAMP High; confirm which environment your org uses.

How do I connect Salesforce Government Cloud to an AI agent over MCP?

Salesforce Hosted MCP Servers are generally available for commercial orgs, but Salesforce's Government Cloud documentation says they are not yet supported in Government Cloud.

The practical path is to host a small MCP server that wraps the Salesforce REST API (same platform APIs); Public Sector Solutions objects, or to give the agent the calls directly with the SKILL.md below.

On ibl.ai an MCP connection is three records, and a working integration always needs all three:

  1. Register the server — POST …/mcp-servers/ with its URL, a transport (sse, websocket or streamable_http) and an auth_type of none, token or oauth2.
  2. Create a connection that holds the credential, scoped to the whole organization (platform), to a single agent, or to each user (user).
  3. Enable it on the agent — mcp-tool in tool_slugs and the server id in mcp_servers. Both lists are replaced, not merged, so read the settings first.

For an API key or a service credential, one token connection at platform scope serves the whole organization; scope a connection to a single agent when that agent needs narrower access than the rest.

The field reference is in MCP server connections, and the /iblai-api-agent-mcp skill runs all three steps from a coding agent.

What does the Salesforce Government Cloud agent skill do?

The Salesforce Government Cloud skill is one SKILL.md file named iblai-connect-salesforce-government-cloud. It gives an agent the auth conventions, what to read, which writes need a person's confirmation, the ibl.ai MCP wiring, example prompts and guardrails.

Download the Salesforce Government Cloud SKILL.md

Save it as .claude/skills/iblai-connect-salesforce-government-cloud/SKILL.md, or in your agent's skills folder. The ibl.ai platform skills it calls come from one install:

$ npx skills add iblai/vibe --all

This connector skill is a starting point maintained on ibl.ai, not part of the iblai/vibe repository.

It was checked against Salesforce's documentation on October 20, 2026. Test it against your own Salesforce Government Cloud setup before you rely on it.

What can I ask a Salesforce Government Cloud agent to do?

  • “List permit applications submitted this week that are still awaiting review”
  • “Show open constituent cases older than 30 days by department”
  • “Update the status of business license BL-10422 to Active”
  • “Count benefit applications by county for this quarter”

How do I run a Salesforce Government Cloud agent on ibl.ai?

Agentic OS is where the agent runs on ibl.ai: it holds the Salesforce Government Cloud MCP connection, the model the agent uses, its instructions and its conversation history.

On ibl.ai you own all the code and the data, run it model-agnostic across any LLM, and pay with no per-seat pricing — so you can deploy anywhere, from your own cloud to a fully air-gapped network.

Which ibl.ai agents work with Salesforce Government Cloud data?

Which ibl.ai platform skills does a Salesforce Government Cloud agent use?

  • /iblai-api-agent-mcp — MCP connectors for ibl.ai agents, end to end
  • /iblai-vibe-agent-mcp — Add the agent MCP tab (Model Context Protocol connector management with featured connectors, custom connectors, OAuth,…
  • /iblai-api-agent-tool — Enable or disable an ibl.ai agent's tools via the platform API

What else should I know before connecting Salesforce Government Cloud to an AI agent?

Is there an official Salesforce Government Cloud MCP server?

Not one that works with Salesforce Government Cloud today. Salesforce Hosted MCP Servers are generally available for commercial orgs, but Salesforce's Government Cloud documentation says they are not yet supported in Government Cloud.

The SKILL.md on this page gives an agent the integration directly, and any MCP server you host can be registered on ibl.ai.

Who can get Salesforce Government Cloud API credentials?

An admin of the Government Cloud org creates an External Client App or connected app and grants API-enabled users access. Government Cloud orgs use their own login host, not login.salesforce.com; confirm it with the admin.

Does Salesforce Government Cloud data leave my infrastructure when an ibl.ai agent uses it?

On ibl.ai, you own all the code and the data. Self-hosted in your cloud or data center, the agent, its MCP connections and its conversation logs stay inside your perimeter.

Because the platform is model-agnostic, you can point the agent at a model you host, so Salesforce Government Cloud records need not reach a third-party model provider.

Is the Salesforce Government Cloud agent skill free to use?

Yes. The SKILL.md is a free download with no sign-up. It assumes you already have Salesforce Government Cloud credentials, and your agreement with Salesforce still governs how you use its API.

Which other data sources can an AI agent connect to alongside Salesforce Government Cloud?

Which other Government systems have a connector?

Every connector, grouped by sector, is on the connectors hub.
