Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) MCP Server & Agent Skill

Last updated

ibl.ai publishes a free Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) agent skill: a SKILL.md that teaches an AI agent to read and write Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) data and expose it as an MCP tool. Download it, connect your own Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) credentials, and run the agent on ibl.ai Agentic OS, where you own all the code and the data.

Reach is a higher-education CRM built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 for recruitment, admissions and student success. Its primary record is the Contact (the student), with applications, test scores and programs. Encoura acquired it from Anthology in 2026.

What is the Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) API, and what can an agent read from it?

Reach data sits in Dynamics 365/Dataverse tables, readable and writable through the Dataverse Web API (OData v4). Reach also ships a file import/export framework (CSV/XLSX in Azure file shares, run by Power Automate flows) used for SIS feeds.

  • API: Microsoft Dataverse Web API (the Dynamics 365 platform under Reach); Reach file import/export framework (Mixed)
  • Access: Issued by your administrator
  • Base URL: https://{yourorg}.crm.dynamics.com/api/data/v9.2/
  • Authentication: OAuth 2.0 via Microsoft Entra ID (delegated user); OAuth 2.0 client credentials (application user, secret or certificate)

Encoura publishes no separate Reach API reference. The institution's Dynamics 365 admin registers an app in Microsoft Entra ID and binds it to an application user with a security role; Reach admins set up file imports and exports.

Dataverse requires OAuth with Microsoft Entra ID. Interactive apps use the user_impersonation scope; server-to-server apps use {environment-url}/.default with a client secret or certificate. Tokens last about 60 minutes.

What can an agent read from Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach)?

  • Contacts β€” The Contact is Reach's primary constituent: prospects, students and alumni, with lifecycle and inbound interest records.
  • Applications β€” Application registration and application records tied to contacts and programs.
  • Test scores and programs β€” Test score and program records created by Reach imports and integrations.
  • Integration logs β€” Integration Log records show the status of each integration message.
  • File exports β€” Admin-configured export templates write Reach data to files for other systems, such as an SIS.

What can an agent write to Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach)?

  • File import β€” CSV/XLSX files in the Azure file share are processed by Power Automate flows (daily at 12:00 UTC by default) into Contact, Application and other records.
  • Create or update rows β€” Dataverse Web API POST and PATCH on Reach tables, within the app user's security role.
  • Delete rows β€” Dataverse Web API DELETE on Reach tables. Confirm with the user first.

Limits: Dataverse service protection, per user per web server: 6,000 requests and 1,200 seconds of execution time in a 5-minute sliding window, and 52 concurrent requests. Over the limit returns 429 with Retry-After.

Applicant and student records; for enrolled students these are FERPA education records. Give the Dataverse application user a security role limited to the tables a task needs.

How do I connect Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) to an AI agent over MCP?

As of October 2026 we found no MCP server published by Encoura itself.

The practical path is to host a small MCP server that wraps the Microsoft Dataverse Web API (the Dynamics 365 platform under Reach); Reach file import/export framework, or to give the agent the calls directly with the SKILL.md below.

On ibl.ai an MCP connection is three records, and a working integration always needs all three:

  1. Register the server β€” POST …/mcp-servers/ with its URL, a transport (sse, websocket or streamable_http) and an auth_type of none, token or oauth2.
  2. Create a connection that holds the credential, scoped to the whole organization (platform), to a single agent, or to each user (user).
  3. Enable it on the agent β€” mcp-tool in tool_slugs and the server id in mcp_servers. Both lists are replaced, not merged, so read the settings first.

For an API key or a service credential, one token connection at platform scope serves the whole organization; scope a connection to a single agent when that agent needs narrower access than the rest.

The field reference is in MCP server connections, and the /iblai-api-agent-mcp skill runs all three steps from a coding agent.

What does the Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) agent skill do?

The Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) skill is one SKILL.md file named iblai-connect-anthology-reach. It gives an agent the auth conventions, what to read, which writes need a person's confirmation, the ibl.ai MCP wiring, example prompts and guardrails.

Download the Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) SKILL.md

Save it as .claude/skills/iblai-connect-anthology-reach/SKILL.md, or in your agent's skills folder. The ibl.ai platform skills it calls come from one install:

$ npx skills add iblai/vibe --all

This connector skill is a starting point maintained on ibl.ai, not part of the iblai/vibe repository.

It was checked against Encoura's documentation on October 20, 2026. Test it against your own Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) setup before you rely on it.

What can I ask an Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) agent to do?

  • β€œList new inquiries from the last 7 days who have not been assigned a recruiter”
  • β€œShow this applicant's submitted applications and their programs”
  • β€œWhich contacts failed last night's import, and why?”
  • β€œUpdate this contact's intended start term after I confirm”

How do I run an Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) agent on ibl.ai?

Agentic OS is where the agent runs on ibl.ai: it holds the Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) MCP connection, the model the agent uses, its instructions and its conversation history.

On ibl.ai you own all the code and the data, run it model-agnostic across any LLM, and pay with no per-seat pricing β€” so you can deploy anywhere, from your own cloud to a fully air-gapped network.

Which ibl.ai agents work with Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) data?

Which ibl.ai platform skills does an Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) agent use?

  • /iblai-api-agent-mcp β€” MCP connectors for ibl.ai agents, end to end
  • /iblai-vibe-agent-mcp β€” Add the agent MCP tab (Model Context Protocol connector management with featured connectors, custom connectors, OAuth,…
  • /iblai-api-agent-tool β€” Enable or disable an ibl.ai agent's tools via the platform API

What else should I know before connecting Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) to an AI agent?

Is there an official Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) MCP server?

Not that we found as of October 20, 2026: Encoura documents the Microsoft Dataverse Web API (the Dynamics 365 platform under Reach); Reach file import/export framework, not an MCP server of its own.

The SKILL.md on this page gives an agent the integration directly, and any MCP server you host can be registered on ibl.ai.

Who can get Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) API credentials?

Encoura publishes no separate Reach API reference. The institution's Dynamics 365 admin registers an app in Microsoft Entra ID and binds it to an application user with a security role; Reach admins set up file imports and exports.

Does Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) data leave my infrastructure when an ibl.ai agent uses it?

On ibl.ai, you own all the code and the data. Self-hosted in your cloud or data center, the agent, its MCP connections and its conversation logs stay inside your perimeter.

Because the platform is model-agnostic, you can point the agent at a model you host, so Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) records need not reach a third-party model provider.

Is the Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) agent skill free to use?

Yes. The SKILL.md is a free download with no sign-up. It assumes you already have Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach) credentials, and your agreement with Encoura still governs how you use its API.

Which other data sources can an AI agent connect to alongside Encoura Reach (Anthology Reach)?

Which other Higher Education systems have a connector?

Every connector, grouped by sector, is on the connectors hub.
